What inspires me most about New York is the mix of history and modernity. I’ve always loved vintage fashion, and this city feels like the perfect stage for it. From historic buildings to stylish strangers on the street—and even the pigeons—everything here tells a story and inspires my work with flowers.
What makes vintage fashion feel relevant today?
For me, vintage fashion feels relevant because it tells a story, especially in a world of fast fashion. Every piece has a past, yet it can be styled in a completely modern way. I love the contrast of wearing something timeless against the backdrop of a constantly evolving city like New York.
How does New York shape your creativity and style?
New York constantly reminds me to stay curious. Inspiration can come from anywhere—a stranger’s outfit on the subway, the texture of an old building, a quiet courtyard hidden between skyscrapers, or the way the light hits the city at sunset. Oh, the sunsets over Manhattan… The city encourages individuality, and it has taught me to trust my instincts and create in a way that feels authentic to me.

Yes—a pigeon, but also a red cardinal.
The pigeon represents New York’s resilience: adaptable, observant, and deeply woven into the city’s everyday life. It moves with confidence between historic brownstones and modern skyscrapers, witnessing the city’s constant evolution.

The cardinal brings warmth and a touch of magic, reminding us that even in the busiest city, beauty and wonder are always present. Absolutely. In New York, fashion isn’t just clothing—it’s the city’s language. Every outfit tells a story, and every street is a runway.
The photographs evoke a strong sense of connection. How does the friendship between you and your mum influence your creativity?
My mum and I see the world through a similar lens—we both notice the small details that others often overlook. Growing up, she taught me that beauty isn’t always perfect or obvious; sometimes it’s found in a faded vintage dress, an old building, or a wildflower growing through concrete.
She also passed on her love for animals and her appreciation for quality over quantity—whether in fabrics, objects, or life itself. That way of seeing the world shapes everything I create. Even when we’re apart, she’s part of my creative process—an invisible thread woven through my work.
Do you dress for mood, message, or moment?
Haha… all of the above. I dress for my mood, the moment, and sometimes for the message I want to send without saying a word.
